MANUFACTURING ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • —Analyzes assembly prints, drawings and specifications and translates for production.  Uses sketches and outlines to illustrate specialized techniques for production operations.  Compares actual process to quotation to validate quote and mfg. process.
  • —Makes special studies of methods and tooling to determine if the job is being performed in the most efficient and economical manner.  Explains recommendations for changes to production supervisors showing cost savings expected.  Instructs production personnel in the correct use of tools or equipment to develop their proficiency.
  •  —Collaborates with Engineering to evaluate product design from the manufacturing viewpoint and to analyze and recommend design changes that will most economically facilitate production.
  • —Analyzes Engineering change notices to determine the most efficient way of introducing such changes into the production process.
  • —Perform special assignments approved by the Manufacturing Engineering Support Manager.  Evaluates the mfg. process seeking areas for improved efficiency and/or cost reductions.
  • —Programming and monitoring of equipment used for production.  Identification of equipment needs and accompanying ROI analysis.
  • —Collaborates with area supervisors regarding new product introductions and training.  Creation and implementation of work instructions to support ISO certification program.   Support for special projects.

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:  

—Associates in Engineering  or  2 years experience in a manufacturing environment.

COMPUTER EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

—Highly Competent in PC, including Microsoft office, CAD experience a plus.
